I have been a midwife for 30 years. I am co-owner of the Katy Birth Center with Natalie Wommack, LM, CPM and Connie Blokkum, APRN, CNM. I was a solo home birth midwife for 18 years before we opened Katy Birth Center in December 2010. We still offer home birth as well as birth center birth. I believe in a woman's innate ability to birth her baby, and that she, with evidenced based education and information will go on to have the birth that is right for her. We want to support her in every way for this goal while also offering safe, compassionate care for the entire process. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Gary and we celebrated our 51st anniversary this past September 2022. We have six lovely children, 3 daughters and three sons, with the last three born at home with midwives and the very last one born in water and caught by her 17 year old sister! We also have seven beautiful grandchildren, ages 20-6 and I was honored to midwife four of them. I am also a committed Christian and it is the focus and joy of my life. I've been very involved in ATM, as well as GHMA for many years as well as supporting midwifery issues on the state level through legislative avenues.
