Mary Alice’s expertise in working with expecting and new parents in the Houston area spans the length of a decade, first as a birth and postpartum doula, and later as a midwife (LM, CPM). Although she loved supporting moms in their birth choices, she felt most in tune fostering the mental health of her patients: holding space for losses, listening to worries, and providing pragmatic resources for the everyday struggles of new parenthood. 

This led Mary Alice to make a shift from midwife to therapist, pursuing her MA in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, with a focus in perinatal mental health to continue her work with new mothers and families.
